Howdy Ags,
The cooler weather is upon us, unfortunately, as in years past, it as also cooled the momentum of Aggie football. However, ‘True to each other as Aggies can be’, We have always been and will continue to be more than just about football. The Maroon line runs deep and we will stand behind our boy’s through good and bad, just a little more challenging some time more than others.
The Aggie soccer team has done another terrific job this year and will continue to have an extended season. Congratulations to coach ‘G’ and the entire team as they press forward toward a run at a National Title.
Don’t forget we continue to have our Reveille Breakfast (1st Thursday), Double Dave’s Pizza Night (next week, 2nd Thursday) and Networking Luncheon (3rd Thursday). We will resume our Howdy Hour’s in January after the watch party season. All of our events are FREE and open to all Aggies, so be sure to come check us out and find a place to plug in with other Aggies.
Moving on we have several events coming up as we wrap up the year. Be sure to check all the events below. But, it appears it have worked out well as Friday 10 November, is set to be a beautiful day. Not too late to register a team or come out as an individual on Friday and have a great time and support their scholarship efforts. https://birdeasepro.com/AggieMomsGolf
The SEC Club will have it’s Holiday Party and once again collect toys for local families. Be sure to save the date for Wednesday December 6th. More details to come soon. facebook.com/pg/AustinSECClub/events
We will also have the return of our own WCAMC Christmas Party hosted by Gumbo’s North – Georgetown. Details are being finalized and we will have registration on our website soon. Save the date as Saturday 9 December for that great event. facebook.com/events/1864309757191774

Howdy
We have entered ‘FALL’ and I am sure we’re all ready for the weather to change. Hard to believe that the football season ‘JUST STARTED” and already we are at the midpoint come this weekend. Six games in and the season will be half over after the ‘Bama’ game. That is hard to believe, certainly a case of ‘hurry up and wait’. It seems like it takes forever for the season to get here and then it flies by. The football team, while young, has certainly rebounded from their opening weekend heartache. A little growth each week and we continue to see small steps in a positive direction. Kyle Field should have a dynamic atmosphere this weekend with another night game. Everyone needs to be loud and support the team, ‘We have seen them win, seen them lose but e have never seen them quit’. Let’s be sure to support the team, regardless of the outcome.
Soccer and volleyball have begun conference play, while the volleyball team has had a rough go as of late, they are still exciting to watch. Be sure to put a match on your calendar if you happen to be in town. The soccer team is playing well and has had the SEC offensive player of the week, two weeks in a row. Congratulations to Ally Watt in the Aggies on a four-game winning streak.
The men’s golf team won a huge tournament over the weekend and may be on the road to making noise nationally. Long season so lets hope they continue to play well, stay healthy and keep it in the short grass.
To shift gears for a moment we have a big announcement. At our annual membership meeting in January, at the request of our club members, we decided to endow our first WCAMC Aggie Scholarship. While we have awarded scholarships from our club for over 25 years, we have never endowed an ongoing scholarship through the University. With overwhelming support from our club members, we began the process of doing just that. After much discussion and following the parameters of our own A&M Club Foundation and scholarship requirements, we are proud to announce that we have officially set up and are working to endow a scholarship with the Texas A&M Foundation! As a club, we will have 5 years to complete the fundraising of $25,000 to make this an ongoing scholarship recognizing our WilCo A&M Club. All donations are made directly to the TEXAS A&M FOUNDATION designated to our WCAMC fund. These donations are tax-deductible and many companies with ‘matching gift’ programs will be eligible as well. I am proud to say, that while this has just been established in the last few weeks, we are already 12% towards our final goal. If you had planned on making a contribution to the University, please consider this option as well. In addition, if you have not paid your annual club dues, we will also use funds from that source on an annual basis. You can donate online at www.txamfoundation.com/give.aspx. Choose “UNLISTED ACCOUNT” in the “I would like to give to” drop-down. Then type WCAMC #0407309 in the “Giving Account Name or Number” field. After that enter your donation amount and proceed with the personal and payment details required.

AGGIE MOM’S GOLF TOURNAMENT – RESCHEDULED.
Due to the recent weather, the WilCo Aggie Moms’ Club has rescheduled their golf tournament. Please find updated information here: https://birdeasepro.com/AggieMomsGolf

WCAMC Newsletter: Thur Pizza Night (3 locations to choose from)

September 13, 2017
Howdy Ags,
We have been able to enjoy a little fall weather in September which is a very pleasant surprise. Unfortunately that has been the only pleasant we have seen along with the start of football in Aggieland. I know many traveled to California for the season opener. Let’s just say the team showed some promise and we hope they can get back on that same track.

Moving on to other Aggie sports, the soccer team has started off with a very tough schedule but is playing well. As is the volleyball team, both squads have opened up with tough non-conference opponents in order to prepare for the grueling conference schedule.

We have several items this month so please be sure to check our website as well as our Facebook page (Fb.com/wcamc/events). If you have not yet signed up, you can also receive text reminders for all of our club events, just text 512-887-2247. During football season we have suspended our Howdy Hours, due to weekly gathering of the Hullabaloo Huddle Watch Parties. Thanks to Buffalo Wild Wings in Georgetown for hosting this event for us.

We will also kick off our third location for Pizza Night, held the second Thursday of each month. We will still have our original location in Round Rock, behind Rudy’s in addition to our Cedar Park location on Whitestone next to the train depot. We will also begin in Georgetown so there is sure to be a location near you and no excuse not to come join us.

We also have the opportunity to support the Aggie Mom’s with their inaugural golf tournament. Dust of your sticks and come support a great event. See details below.

Plenty of opportunities to get out and network with fellow Aggies and we certainly hope to see you at one of our events in the near future.

We continue to offer our weekly club events and look forward to seeing you at one in the near future. I was on campus recently and there was plenty of activity with new student conferences and of course no shortage of construction around town. I had the opportunity to meet with a recent graduate and he asked ‘what was College Station like when I was in school?’ Hard to believe it has been 30 years as well celebrate my class reunion this fall. Certainly not the same place and I am continually amazed at how it continues to grow.

Howdy Ags,
The heat of SUMMER is upon us and we are half way through June. It has been very busy already and wanted to quickly highlight a few items.

While we do not have any official numbers as of yet we had another successful FISH FRY. If you want to share some feedback please plan on joining us Wednesday evening for a wrap up meeting (details below). We want to continue making this a great annual event and we appreciate any thoughts you may have. We did serve close to 1,100 plates of fish (in-house and to-go) and everyone seemed to enjoy catching up with old friends. If you can’t make it Wednesday plan on joining us for our weekly Thursday event, Network Luncheon at Tortuga Flats in Round Rock from 11:45-1pm.

Aggie athletics has seen an extension of season for several sports. Of course the softball team started things off with a trip to the College World Series. While they came up a littles short it was a great accomplishment to be included in the field. The men’s and women’s track team claimed a few individual National Championships and came up just short of the team title. As many of you know the Aggie Baseball team is headed to Omaha for the CWS as well. This is the first time in program history that both the softball and baseball team made it to the CWS in the same season. We want to wish all the Aggie programs the very best in the post season.

As many of you know the push is on our annual FISH FRY. It is only a month away and we have been hard at work to make sure the 25th Anniversary of the event is a huge success. In the event you have forgotten, it is tax time. You actually have until midnight Tuesday 18 April in order to get your taxes filed. I am sure all of our CPA friends will be glad when the dust settles from the annual turmoil.
The Aggie baseball team has done an amazing job of getting back on track. After starting conference play 0-5 they were able to sweep the bad guys in Tuscaloosa over the weekend and get right back in the race. The Softball team continues to terrorize the SEC and could be on the run to a national title. Over the weekend the men’s tennis team clinched the SEC conference title and the Equestrian team won its 12th National Championship. Good things continue to happen in Aggieland.
Muster is this Friday and while it is too late to RSVP for dinner please plan on joining us for our speaker and ceremony.  There will be a limited number of meals available at the door for $25.  wcamc.aggienetwork.com/muster
Time is quickly running out to sign up for the SEC Golf Tournament. This is always a fun event and allows bragging rights for a year. Put your team together, wear marron & white and support represent the Aggies. Opportunity to assist even if you do not want to play are also available.
We welcome you to any and all of our events, dues are not mandatory to attend. Please remember your dues go to support club activities for its members in addition to our scholarship program. This year our club would like to endow its first WCAMC Scholarship, in recognition of 25 years of Fish Fry.

Howdy Ags,
Spring is here and it already feels like summer. The club has been busy planning events for the year, perhaps you have already received your annual mailer in your mailbow from the Association of Former Students. This years mailer is full of information, save the date cards for several events, annual membership renewal form, fish fry details as well as sponsorship information. Please take some time to look through the mailer. If you didn’t receive a mailer then it’s likely that your information is not up to date with The Association of Former Students, but you can view it online here. Now is also a great time to join or renew your annual club dues. You can do this at Muster, with the application sent in the mailer or online wcamc.aggienetwork.com/muster.
As we gear up for FISH FRY, we would like to take a moment to thank our title sponsors. Once again TEXAS CRUSHED STONE has stepped up to the challenge and continues to support our event. In addition, this year our second title sponsor is THE ALCOVE CANTINA. Thanks to Mr. Hall and his team as well as they have stepped up to the plate for several years in many capacities to make this a successful event. If you or your company would like to become a FISH FRY sponsor please contact us and we will share all the information. call/text 5128872247 or email GigEm@wcamc.com
Congratulations to the A&M Track & Field team on their Indoor National Championship. It was an amazing day with the men clinching the win with a record setting 4×400 relay. Also want to congratulate the women’s Swimming & Diving team with their back to back SEC Championship. In addition they finished with their best ever, 3rd place ranking at the NCAA National Championship. Things are on the rise in Aggieland. With any luck the adage of ‘rising tide raises all ships’ will begin to come to fruition.
As always, we look forward to seeing you at one or several of our club events. We welcome you to come try us out, if you are interested in something the club is not doing, please share your ideas. It would be a great way for you to get involved by helping us begin a new activity that you and others may be interested in. Young Aggie Alumni Group, Dominoes Tournament, the options are endless.
